The more technically minded call it “algorithmic curation.” More simply put, Thoora’s automated technology sifts through all of the news stories throughout social and traditional media and lets you know what people are reading and talking about in the news world – minus all the favouritism, biases and hidden agendas. Thoora accounts for millions of voices and not just the A-listers who take up a lot of digital real estate. This is the first attempt to package Twitter, blogs and traditional news together – a logical three-way union that would make most people’s lives easier.
After meeting Mike Lee, the Thoora team led by Chul Lee (no relation) believed that Rogers Ventures was willing to give Canada’s solid entrepreneurial talent pool the proper support needed to bring their big ideas to market. Likewise, Rogers Ventures saw the opportunity in Thoora’s innovative and timely technology and was excited by the team that Chul was building. The partnership seemed a natural fit.
